FFXIV Gil - Are You Making Effective Use Of It?

Players require Gil for various purposes, from maintaining their main to power leveling; however, many may not be making the best use of their FFxiv Gil.

Farming

Crafting is one of the best Gil-making strategies in FFXIV; even when starting off a new patch it may prove costly due to newly discovered items and nodes not yet widely distributed. Gathering is another good option but may take more time due to base materials being cheap like ore.

Treasure hunting can be an excellent way to earn extra gil. Your faction quartermaster may assign leves every day that result in treasure maps - this way, treasure hunting becomes an enjoyable task that earns free gil.

Player housing is another effective method of earning FFXIV gil. Unfortunately, however, it still presents some challenges which likely won't be resolved until patch 6.1 of Endwalker (player housing / gardens). But it still serves its purpose well by offering you a place to store consumables while giving you your own base for doing leves, exploring or raiding missions.

Treasure Hunting

Many players enjoy taking on side quests and running dungeons for the gear they can find at the end, however some items don't justify spending Gil on. You could save yourself lots of money by stockpiling Aetheryte Tickets which will remove this expense altogether.
